Jalandhar, July 4 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Parkash Singh Badal today said the Reliance SEZ deal would be made a major issue in his party's manifesto for the Punjab assembly elections scheduled to be held early next year.

Alleging foulplay in the land deals for the project, the former state chief minister told reporters the SAD would ensure ''justice to aggrieved farmers'' if it would come to power.

He also charged the Amarinder Singh government with failure in getting a Central package for the farmers of the state on the lines of the deal announced for to Maharashtra by the Prime Minister.

He urged the UPA allies to withdraw support to the Manmohan Singh government on the issue of spiralling prices of essential commodities.

Accusing the coalition partners of pursuing a ''dual policy'', Mr Badal said they should come clean over the issue.

Mr Badal held SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann and his supporters responsible for a clash on the 400th foundation day celebrations of the Akal Takht on Sunday.

The names of speakers for the function were decided by the organisers and he had nothing to do with exclusion of Mr Mann's name for the purpose, Mr Badal clarified.
