Forty children hospitalised after drinking water in Kashmir

Srinagar, July 4 (UNI) At least 40 school children fell ill after drinking water from a tank in south Kashmir's Pulwama district today, official sources said.

They said immediately after the students drank water from a tank in a government primary school at Yasal in Pulwama district, they complained of fever and rashes on their face.

The sources said the school children were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors stated that the students were suffering from viral infection.

A team of doctors has been deputed to the area besides several senior civil administration officials visited the children in the hospital.

The school management has declared three days of holiday after the incident.
