Blast by Tamil tigers kill 3 in Sri Lanka army
Colombo, July 3: A suspected Tamil Tiger blast killed two members of Sri Lanka's security forces and one civilian in the northeastern port of Trincomalee, the military said.
The spokesman said one policeman, one Home Guard trooper and one civilian were reported dead in a blast at a road junction in the town that had been the site of several previous suspected Tiger fragmentation mine ambushes.
''It's a Tiger explosion,'' Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe said.
''We don't know if it's a claymore or an IED (improvised explosive device).''
