Sonia accorded rousing reception at Bhopal
Bhopal, July 3 (UNI) Congress President and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi was accorded a rousing reception at Bairagarh airport here today on her arrival for a six-hour visit to the state capital.
Union Ministers Arjun Singh, Kamal Nath, Suresh Pachouri and Kantilal Bhuria, AICC General Secretaries Digvijay Singh and V Narayansami, Congress Secretary Arun Kumar, PCC Chief Subhash Yadav and PCC spokesperson Manak Agrawal gave a warm welcome to the party chief, who arrived at 1015 hours from New Delhi by a special aircraft.
Ms Gandhi is scheduled to attend four programmes before flying back to Delhi.
She will launch the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission at a function organised by Bhopal Municipal Corporation, inaugurate a school started by The Bhaskar newspaper group, inaugurate the new building of MPCC and address a convention of Congress functionaries.
This is her first visit to the state capital after the BJP assumed office in Madhya Pradesh, though she has visited other parts of the state earlier.
