Six die after consuming methyl alcohol

Lucknow, July 3 : Six people died and over 20 were admitted to hospital after they consumed methyl alcohol when a tanker overturned near Barabanki-Faizabad border on Lucknow-Faizabad road here this morning.

Police officials confirming deaths of six people said, the deceased had consumed huge quantity of liquor which leaked from tanker after it overturned in the Faizabad district. Methyl alcohol is meant for industrial purposes.

Of the six deceased, four belonged to Faizabad and the other rest two were from Barabanki.

Senior police officials have reached the spot along with medical relief.
