Police arrests stock market advisor in TV show
Kolkata, July 3 : Police has arrested a stock market advisor in a TV show for allegedly swindling Rs three crore of investors money.
Nearly Rs 1.2 crore in fixed deposits, Rs 2.8 lakh in cash and several National Savings Certificates were seized from the person named Bhaskar Mukherjee, Deputy Commissioner of Police (detective department) Gyanwant Singh said.
Police also recovered an improvised pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition from Bhaskar.
Bhaskar allegedly floated his own company and offered to invest on behalf of his clients.
He allegedly offered handsome interest to his clients for the first few months and then started defaulting on payments.
Police tracked down on Bhaskar and his father, who fled from Kolkata and stayed at Balasore following complaints by over 100 investors, Singh said.
The amount seized by the police is substantial and people will get back their money through the court, he added.
