LJP open to ally with Congress

Dehra Dun, Jul 3 (UNI) The Lok Janshakti Party has said it is open to forge an alliance with the ruling Congress for the Assembly elections scheduled early next year.

''LJP is preparing itself to fight assembly election on its own but it is not averse to fit the equation with the Congress if possible,'' Uttaranchal in-charge of the party S N Singh told reporters yesterday.

However, he ru;ed out all possibilities of allying with the BJP, SP and BSP.

''With 3,000 more members from Kashipur willing to join LJP, the party's strength will rise to 20,000 by month-end,'' he said.

He said the party will chalk out election strategy next month.
