New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Indian (Airlines) has launched automated cargo operations connecting Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

The system will be extended to other domestic and international stations on the airline's network, an airlines spokesperson said.

All the stations will be covered by January 2007.

The end-to-end integrated automation process offers a range of user-friendly measures to cargo shippers and agents who can now book online, track the movement of a cargo consignment or even check delivery status.

For the airline, the automation will simplify procedures at the airport enabling speedy customer service. Using a bar-code system, all consignments will be scanned at every step, including post-booking and security check so that all details can be accessed any time.
