Indian cagers win Bronze at eight-nation tourney in Thailand

New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Indian men's team beat China 112-75 to win the Bronze medal in the eight-nation 10th Crown Prince Cup International Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Hat Yai City in Thailand.

The Indian team paticipated in the tournament, which concluded yesterday, for the first time and finished third behind Iran and hosts Thailand, according to information received here.

In addition to the Bronze medal, the team also won five of the seven individual honours with Trideep Rai bagging the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award after being the highest scorer in the event.

Trideep was also the highest three-point scorer. Teammate Sambhaji Kadam was adjudged the Best Assist Player.

The tournament featured teams from Japan and Vietnam among others.
