Hewitt, Murray chase quarter-final date

LONDON, July 3 (Reuters) In-form Australian Lleyton Hewitt and British teenager Andy Murray will try to set up an intriguing quarter-final meeting at Wimbledon when they play their fourth round matches today.

Hewitt, the 2002 champion who won the pre-Wimbledon Queen's Club event, plays 23rd seed David Ferrer, one of a record three Spaniards in the last 16.

Murray, fresh from his third-round upset of Andy Roddick, takes on Australian Open runner-up Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus. He is trying to become Britain's first men's singles champion since 1936.

Triple champion Roger Federer plays hard-hitting Czech Tomas Berdych. The winner will face either Croatian Mario Ancic or his talented Serbian rival Novak Djokovic.

French Open doubles champions Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Swede Jonas Bjorkman find themselves on the opposite sides of the net while the French Open men's singles champion Rafael Nadal plays Georgian Irakli Labadze for a place in his first Wimbledon quarter-final.

In the women's fourth round, the top two seeds Amelie Mauresmo and Kim Clijsters face talented teenagers. Mauresmo appears to have the tougher task against Serbian Ana Ivanovic.

French Open champion Justine Henin-Hardenne plays Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova and Italy's Flavia Pennetta stands in the way of 2004 champion Maria Sharapova.

If she wins, Sharapova could face fellow Russian Elena Dementieva in the quarter-finals. Dementieva plays the only American left in the men's or women's singles, Shenay Perry.

Li Na attempts to become the first Chinese player to reach a singles quarter-final at a grand slam event when she plays 17-year-old Czech Nicole Vaidisova.
