Mr Antulay called upon institutions to undertake multi- disciplinary and multi-institutional research activities in key areas like bio-technology and bio-mass energy.
Recalling the ordeals undergone by the Karunya Institute to secure deemed university status, because of its minority status, he said that was why the UPA government had amended the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Act.
