DPA candidates leading in four chairman posts

Pondicherry, July 3 (UNI) Candidates of the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) contesting for the post of Municipal Chairman were leading in four of five municipalities as counting of votes progressed here today.

While the DPA candidates were leading in Pondicherry, Ozhukarai, Mahe and Yanam municipalities, DMDK candidate Prabavathy is leading in Karaikal municipality.

In Pondicherry municipality, the results of six wards were announced. The DMK won four, AIADMK and PMC one each.

In Ozhukarai municipality, results of four wards were announced.

The DMK won two, Congress one and Independent one.

Four congress candidates were declared elected unopposed in Ozhukarai municipality.
