Depression cross Orissa coast; heavy rains likely in AP
Visakhapatnam, Jul 3 (UNI) The deep depression over the north Bay of Bengal had moved westwards and crossed the Orissa coast between Paradeep and Chandabali last night.
CWC official told UNI here that the depression lay centred very close to Puri district in Orissa. The system is likely to move in a westerly direction.
Under its influence rains and heavy rains are likely at most places of Orissa and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam during the next 48 hours.
Isolated heavy-to-very heavy rainfalls are likely over North Coastal Andhra during the next 48 hours.
Squalls with speed reaching 50 to 55 kmph along and off Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts and strong offshore winds and off westerly with speed reaching 45-55 kmph in coastal Andhra are likely, the official said.
