Bhubaneswar, Jul 03 (UNI) The deep depression over north west Bay of Bengal had moved westwards and crossed Orissa coast between Paradip and Chandbali last night and lay centred close to Cuttack today.

Meteorological office sources said the deep depression is likely to move in west north westerly direction and cause rains and thundershowers at many places over coastal Orissa and most parts of interior Orissa during the next 24 hours.

The fishermen had been advised not to venture into the open sea as it would be very rough. The authority had already hoisted local cautionary signal number three at all the three ports in the state.

Met sources said squally weather with wind speed reaching between 45 to 55 km per hour is likely to prevail along and off Orissa coast during the next 24 hours.
