CRPF killed two militants in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 3 : Two militants were killed by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in a fierce encounter at Harwan, about 18 km from here today.

A CRPF spokesman said a search operation was launched at Harwan this afternoon following a tip off that some militants were hiding there.

As the CRPF personnel and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police were sealing the area, militants opened fire. The fire was returned and in the fierce clash two militants were killed.

A CRPF personnel was also injured in the shootout, he said adding two AK rifles, one pistol and few hand grenades were recovered from the slain militants.
