CBI files chargesheet in Navy War Room leak case
New Delhi, Jul 3 : The CBI today filed chargesheet against four accused in the Navy war room leak case.
The agency filed the chargesheet against ex-Naval Commanders V K Jha and Bijendra Rana besides former Wing Cdr Sambhajee L Surve and Lt Cdr (Retd) Kulbhushan Parashar under sections 120 B of the IPC and the Official Secrets Act before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamaljeet Arora.
They were arrested on April 6 last when the agency raided 17 places across six cities.
The agency quoted 68 witnesses and 116 documents, including secret letters and mobile phone records, besides kingston pen drive and jetflack pen drive recovered from Rana and Surve in its chargesheet.
The chargesheet would come up for consideration before the judge on July 10.
The CBI was expected to file chargesheet tomorrow against two other accused in the case, civilians Rajaram Jaiswal and Mukesh Bajaj, who were arrested a day after the country-wide raids of April 6.
Agency sources said proceedings were on to declare accused Lt Cdr (Retd) Ravishankaran a proclaimed offender.
The chargesheet filed today was silent on accused Wing Cdr (Retd) S K Kohli and Ex Captain (Navy) Kashyap Kumar.
