Bose's death: Centre criticised for rejecting report
Bangalore, July 3 : The Netaji Subhash Foundation today flayed the Centre for rejecting the findings of the Justice Mukherjee Commission, constituted to go into the mystery shrouding the death of the legenadary freedom fighter and demanded a detailed discussion on it in both the Houses of Parliament.
Addressing newspersons here, Foundation South Zone General Secretary G R Shivashankar said the Commission had disallowed the theory that the founder of the INA had died in an air crash and also stated that the pot of ash kept at the Rangoji temple in Japan was not that of Mr Bose.
Under these circumstances, the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre should have presented the facts before Parliament and taken up a discussion on the issue before outrightly rejecting the findings, he added.
He lamented that ''Successive governments at the Centre had treated Mr Bose's mysterious disappearance lightly and never bothered to bring out the truth.'' He also informed that the Foundation would be organising a seminar on the Commission's report in the city on July 7, in which Lok Sabha member Subrato Bose and former Karnataka High Court Justice M K Saldana would be participating among others.
