Woman killed in ruckus

Hardoi, July 2 (UNI) A woman lost her life, while three others sustained grievous wounds, when two groups of women clashed over a minor issue in Pihani area here.

Police today said the incident occurred in Mansoornagar village last night at a feast thrown by Ramshankar to celebrate the birth of his son.

According to sources, a woman taunted the host over the shortage of mutton.

The comment led to a clash between women, which could be stopped only when men intervened.

Later, four seriously wounded were taken to hospital, where Ramshankar's wife Bhagauta succumbed.

A case has been registered.
