'Sadhu' among two Amarnath pilgrims die in Kashmir
Srinagar, July 2 (UNI) A 75-year-old 'sadhu' from Nepal and another pilgrim died due to a cardiac arrest during the Amarnath pilgrimage since last night, official sources said today.
With this, a total of 20 pilgrims have died since the commencement of the two-month-long Amarnath pilgrimage on June 11.
The sources said the 'sadhu', identified as Kalu Ram and hailing from Nepal, died of a heart attack near the Amarnath holy cave shrine from traditional Pahalgam route immediately after he complained of a acute chest pain last night.
They said Pratap Siingh Bedi, a resident of Jalandhar in Punjab, complained of acute chest pain today. He was immediately shifted to the medical camp at Baltal enroute the holy shrine where he died of a cardiac arrest.
Meanwhile, two pilgrims were rushed to the multi-specialty Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura from Baltal after their condition worsened there following acute cardiac pain, they added.
The pilgrims were identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of Punjab, and Shreedevam of Bangalore.
