Nine members of a marriage party electrocuted in UP

Kanpur, July 2 (UNI) Nine people were burnt alive and three sustained burn injuries when a high tension power line fell on a bus in the Pathakpur village under Shivrajpur police station here late last night, police said today.

According to police, the ill-fated bus carrying a marriage party from Kannauj was standing under a high tension power line when some of the baraties went on roof of the bus to sleep. While they were sleeping, the high tension power line snapped and fell on them in which five persons were burnt alive and nine others injured seriously.

The police immediately reached the spot and with the help of villagers rushed the injured to hospital but four of them succumbed to injuries on the way.

Three persons were admitted in the city hospital but the condition of one of them is stated to be critical. The deceased have been identified as Kuldeep, Rohit, Sidhgopal, Deep Singh, Monu, Mahavir, Collector, Sunna and Vijay.
