NBCC to develop nine projects worth Rs 210 cr
Aizawl, July 2: The Urban Development (UD) and Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation (UEPA) Ministry has entrusted the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) to develop nine new projects across Mizoram at a cost of Rs 210 crores.
The recent visit of Neena Garg, the joint secretary and financial advisor, UEPA accompanied by NBCC top level officials has termed the projects as significant for the development of the state.
Disclosing this to UNI, NBCC official sources here today informed that administrative training institute building, new capital complex, the bus terminus at Thuampui -- all in the capital city, and a shopping complex at Kolasib district are nearing completion.
Works recently started by the NBCC include the truck terminus at Rangvamual, improvements of Aizawl city roads and UEPA works in southern and northern Mizoram.
The project of mini sports complex at Chite is expected to start before March for which first installment had been sanctioned.
Upgradation of slums within eight district headquarters of Mizoram and a new market complex at Champhai district is also expected to be completed within this month, sources added.
