Naxalite threat to AIR ; security beefed up
Jamshedpur, July 2 (UNI) Security was stepped up after the All India Radio here received a letter allegedly from the proscribed CPI (Maoist), which threatened to blow up the broadcasting house premises at Adityapur.
In the letter, which was received by the Assistant Station Director of the AIR, the ultras asked the AIR authorities to suspend a programme ''Naya Savera'', which reportedly suggested to the youth of the tribal villages not to fall in the trap of the ''outsiders'', who used to allure them with money to join hands with the extremists.
ASD Sanjivani Kashalkar immediately informed the AIR Delhi counterpart about the letter and sought their advice but the Delhi office reportedly asked him to continue the programme and not to bow down to such threats.
