Modi leaves for Astrakhan, Moscow with a business delegation

Ahmedabad, July 2 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today led a 16-member business delegation on a six-day long trade visit to Russian province of Astrakhan and Moscow.

During the visit, Mr Modi and delegation will stay in Astrakhan for three days, during which they will hold a series of meetings with Governor of Astrakhan and businessmen for expanding and exploring bilateral businesses and trades between Gujarat and Russian province, an official release here said.

The Gujarat delegation will also visit Central Cargo Port, Indian Trade House, Astore Trade Centre and Volga river, the release added.

The delegation will also visit Olpa Port Carone Confectionary Industries, State University, Technical University and Gas Petroleum Processing Plant (GasProm).

Later, the delegation will visit Moscow for two-day, during which they will debate and discuss for exploring joint ventures and business opportunities between Indian Business Community and Chamber of Commer-Industries of Moscow.

The delegation will mainly emphasis on bilateral trade relationships between two sides in the fields of Petroleum, Fisheries, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering, Chemicals Manufacturing, Textile and others.

Earlier, Mr Modi, along with then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, had made successful visit of Astrakhan and Moscow in November-2001. Later in March-2003, Astrakhan's former Governor A Gujveen and his delegation of local industrialists had made return visit to Gujarat, the release added.
