Mauresmo ready to exact revenge on Ivanovic

LONDON, July 2 (Reuters) Amelie Mauresmo revisits one of her tennis nightmares tomorrow when the French world number one faces Serbian teenager Ana Ivanovic in the Wimbledon fourth round.

Ivanovic wrecked Mauresmo's hopes of winning her home grand slam event last year when she upset her in the French Open third round.

The 18-year-old Serbian, playing her first match in the last 16 at Wimbledon, has won two of their last three meetings and top seed Mauresmo knows she is in for a difficult day.

''She's one of the newcomers on the tour. She hits the ball pretty hard on both sides, serves very well also,'' Mauresmo said.

''I haven't seen how she plays here on grass but I'm sure she uses a lot of power also. I'm expecting a tough one.'' Mauresmo has strolled through the tournament so far, dropping only nine games in her first three matches.

She has reached the semi-finals on her last three visits to the All England Club, and following yet another premature exit at the French Open this year, is once again revelling in not being the centre of attention in southwest London.

''I've always been very comfortable here. Not only this year but also the last few years I've been playing here,'' said the 26-year-old, who admits she has been keeping one eye on France's progress at the World Cup in between matches.

''It's always a great atmosphere. On these courts, off the court also, we rent a house, it's very different from how we live in the other tournaments.

''It makes it very nice for me.

''I feel that everything really is coming together. I think it looks pretty good. But I have to keep going.'' REUTERS DH RK1520
