Maoists call strike on Jul 6 to protest UPAs agri policy
Kolkata, July 2 (UNI) CPI(Maoist) has called a 24-hour strike in three districts of West Bengal on July 6 in protest against the agricultural policy of the UPA government in the Centre and Left Front government in the state.
The Maoist activists pasted posters and distributed handbills to announce their decision to call a strike in Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapore districts of the state.
Police have seized at least 100 posters in Hura, Burrabazar and Bandowan areas in Purulia district today, Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Shah said.
Meanwhile, nearly 500 gms of explosives was also seized by police at Silapati ground near Hura police station area in Purulia today.
