Lt Gen Sandhu new DG Ordnance Service
New Delhi, July 2 (UNI) Lt Gen DDS Sandhu today took over as Director General of Ordnance Services and Senior Colonel Commandant, Army Ordnance Corps.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Lt Gen Sandhu was commissioned into the Army in 1967.
An expert in the ammunition and armament, he served as the 'Ammunition Quality Controller' in the Nigerian Army.
His forte is management and automation. Dr Sandhu was Director, Computerised Inventory Control Project, an automation project that is going to help the Army Ordnance Corps in meeting the logistic challenges of the future.
Besides being Commandant of Central Ordnance Depot, Delhi Cantt which is one of the biggest logistics depots of the Army Ordnance Corps, he has been Deputy Director of Ordnance Services of a strike corps.
As a Major General he was a pivotal functionary of the logistics support system of one of the operational commands.
He has a Doctorate in 'International Marketing of Indian Defence Products' from Punjabi University, Patiala. He holds an MBA degree and a Masters degree in Materials Management.
