Left allies agree on land acquisition issue for industrialisation
Kolkata, July 2 (UNI) West Bengal Forward Bloc state president Ashok Ghosh today said that all the Left allies have agreed with the state government on the issue of land acquisition for industrialisation.
Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee and Commerce and Industry Minister Nirupam Sen today met all Left Front allies to sort out the dispute on land acquisition and problems related to rehabilitation of the displaced people.
RSP state president Debobrata Banerjee also said that they did not have any disagreement on this issue. RSP is also another Left Front ally in the government.
Mr Ghosh said, ''We have discussed about the land acquisition and rehabilitation. We have requested the Chief Minister to publish a booklet on the matter,'' Mr Ghosh said.
''However, we believe industrialisation and agriculture, both are important for the development of the state. But the people, displaced due to land acquisition for the industrialisation, should be properly rehabilitated,'' he added.
Recently, all the Left allies had sent a note to the CPI(M) saying that they wanted detailed information on the land acquistion issue.
Indonesian Salim Group, Tata Motors, Videocon, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), tobacco major ITC and Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Industries have outlined mega investment plans for the state and all of them have sought land from the government.
