K'taka Forests Minister escapes car fire
Bangalore, July 2 (UNI) Karnataka Forests Minister C Chennigappa had a providential escape when his car caught fire near Honnenahalli village in neighbouring Tumkur district, about 110 km from here last night.
Police said the mishap occurred when the Minister was going to his native village Byranayakanahalli around midnight yesterday, after attending a programme at Tiptur. The car's engine caught fire, but people from the village and personnel in his convoy put off the blaze immediately.
While the Minister came out of the car unhurt, his driver sustained minor injuries, police added.
