Heavy rains slash temperature in the city

Kolkata, Jul 02 (UNI) The city today breathed a sigh of relief following heavy rains for few hours during the day after several weeks' of hot and humid weather prevailed.

Weatherman said today the sky was completely cloudy in the morning with few spells of showers in the afternoon, which slashed the temperature.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 33 degree Celsius and the minimum was 26 degree Celsius.

The relative humidity was high at 90 per cent, which however didn't pinch much due to rains.

The Met office have forecast a heavy rainfal in the next few hours.
