Heavy rainfall forecast in UP

Lucknow, July 2 (UNI) Heavy rainfall is forecast in Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hrs, especially Lucknow, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Allahabad and Varanasi divisions.

The met office here today said rainfall had been recorded in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Jhansi divisions since yesterday.

During the period, Varanasi recorded the maximum rainfall at 28.6 mm, followed by Paliakalan with 18 mm.

Rainfall also brought much needed respite to the people, already reeling under sultry weather.

However, the scheduled and unscheduled power cuts have added to the woes of the people at most places in UP.
