Fresh batch of 1537 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Jammu, July 2 (UNI) A fresh batch of 1537 pilgrims left here today for onward journey to the Himalayan cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir.

Today's batch, comprising 961 men, 366 women, 147 sadhus and 37 children, left from the base camp at M A M stadium here between 0500 hours and 0530 hours, officials said.

The devotees left in a fleet of 57 vehicles under proper security arrangements, and were expected to reach their respective destinations at Phalgam and Baltal by this evening, they said.
