Exorcist shot dead

Banda, Jul 2 (UNI) An exorcist, who had allegedly been shot in Marka area here on Wednesday, succumbed to his wounds last evening, police today said.

The exorcist, Manmohan, was shot at by Ram Avtar after he could not ''heal'' the latter's son Ram Bahadur Nishad (32), who died during the ''treatment.'' Manmohan had promised Ram Avtar that he could help Ram Bahadur recover from his prolonged illness.

The faith healer was recuperating from the bullet wound at the district hospital, where he died.

Meanwhile, the accused was absconding.
