Dr Sebastian Thekkethecheril ordained Vijayapuram Bishop

Kottayam, July 2 (UNI) Dr Sebastian Thekkethecheril was today ordained the fifth Bishop of the Vijayapuram diocese.

The Episcopal ordination was held at the Vimalagiri cathedral grounds.

Dr Peter Thuruthikkonam, the retiring bishop ordained the new bishop.

Mar Mathew Moolakkattu, Archbishop of Kottayam, and Kollam bishop Dr Stanley Roman were the co-ordaining prelates.

Thousands of believers, bishops and other prominent persons participated in the solemn ceremony.

Later, a public meeting was held to felicitate the new bishop.

Verapoly Archbishop Dr Daniel Acharuparambil presided over the meeting.
