CCB arrests 7 for preparing, selling bogus passports
Chennai, July 2 (UNI) The Central Crime Branch (CCB) today arrested seven persons for allegedly preparing bogus passports and selling them for the large sums of money.
Police sources said, one Imtiaz of Anna Nagar applied and obtained his passport through one Justine of Thirumullaivayil and left for Italy for a job. However, he was deported soon after he landed at airport by the Italian authorities who found that the passport was bogus and fabricated.
He registered a complaint with the CCB police, following which Justine and based on his information, Chinnaiyah, Sundar, Abdulkhadar, Kesavaram, Sathishkumar and Kadhir.
Enquiries revealed that the gang might have earned atleast Rs 50 lakh by preparing and selling the bogus passports.
Further investigations were on, CCB officials said.
