Blame on Asom police Tuli town crime in Nagaland
Kohima, July 2 (UNI) Tension ran high at Tuli town in Nagaland's Mokokchung district since Thursday following the killing of one person in the town by alleged Asom police.
According to official sources here today about six Asom policemen intruded into Watiyongpang Tea Estate on Thursday night and shot dead one Khan Singh alias Suresh hailing from Geleki under Golaghat district of Asom, who went there to meet one of his relatives working in the tea estate.
Police recovered an empty case of self-loading rifle (SLR) from the spot and a case has been registered in Tuli police station.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung has intimated his Asom counterpart of the incident and sought the names of police personnel on duty at Amguri Police Station.
Meanwhile, in another incident, joint security forces assisted by Kohima Police arrested one arms dealer along with two weapons who was looking for customers to sell his 9mm pistols for Rs 50,000.
