Administration gears up for counting
Vijayawada, July 2: The Krishna District administration has geared up for smooth conduct of counting of votes on July four.
Official sources told UNI here today that the ballot papers of the MPTC and ZPTC would be separated at the time of counting.
Only candidates and counting agents would be allowed inside the counting centres.
MPs, MLAs and other party representatives would not be allowed inside the counting centres in accordance with the direction given by the State Election Commission (SEC).
Sources added that only returning officers and counting officers would be allowed to carry cell phones inside the centres.
Mediapersons should stay outside the counting halls and officials concerned would provide information to them.
A total of 141 candidates contested for 49 ZPTC seats and 1,947 candidates for 810 MPTC seats in the district.
Twenty three of the 833 MPTC seats were declared elected.
