30 industrial units being set up in Kashmir quake-hit areas
Srinagar, July 2 (UNI) About 30 industrial units will be set up by the Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) during the current fiscal in the earthquake ravaged areas of Tangdhar and Teethwal to create more employment opportunities.
An official spokesman today said that the officials conducted a survey of the area to ascertain the feasibility for establishment of various units under tiny cottage sectors such as steel fabrication, furniture, blacksmith, carpentry, shoemaking, stone quarrying, crushers, dhabas, tea stalls, computers, servicing, electronics, tailoring, crewel and embroidery.
Ponies, bee-keeping and other small scale units under the rural employment generation programme would be set up to supplement the income of the locals, he added.
