Water level in Cauvery basin reservoirs rises further
Mysore, July 1 (UNI) The water level in the Cauvery basin reservoirs of Karantaka further increased following incessant rain which continued to lash the catchment areas.
The water level in the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) reservoir, built across river Cauvery, stood at 102.70 ft against its maximum level 124.80 ft. It is the first time in recent years the KRS reservoir had crossed the 100 ft mark during this time of the year. The inflow into the dam was 16,221 cusecs and the discharge was maintained at 302 cusecs.
Meanwhile, the Kabini reservoir authorities issued a flood warning to the people living in the low-lying areas following the water level in the Kabini dam touching 2,279.95 ft as against its e full capacity of 2,284 ft. The inflow into the dam was 30,986 cusecs and the discharge was increased to 36,621 cusces.
The water level in Harangi dam was 2851.78 ft as against its full level of 2,859 ft. The inflow was 10,492 cusecs.
