Tursunov upsets fifth seed Ljubicic

LONDON, July 1 (Reuters) Russian Dmitry Tursunov knocked out Croatian fifth seed Ivan Ljubicic with a stirring comeback from two sets down in the Wimbledon third round today.

Tursunov saved a match point in the fourth set tiebreak on his way to a 5-7 4-6 6-1 7-6 6-2 win in three hours 45 minutes on court one.

The 27th seed secured victory with his 19th ace of the match. It was the first time in his career that Tursunov had recovered from two sets down to win.

The Russian will attempt to reach the quarter-finals of a grand slam event for the first time when he plays either Finland's Jarkko Nieminen or German Philipp Kohlschreiber in the last 16.
