Swaminaraynan sect welcomes Akshardham verdict
Gandhinagar, July 1: The Akshardham temple authorities today welcomed the POTA court order, sentencing three persons to death and three others to different prison terms, for the September 24, 2002, attack, saying ''justice has been done''.
''Judiciary has upheld the rule of law to deter acts of terrorism and safeguard the society. We continue to pray that no acts of terrrorism should occur anywhere in the world, any place or any people. May peace and tranquility prevail without hatred and thoughts of revenge,'' Swami Nishit Acharya of Swaminarayan temple, Gandhinagar said.
In the terrorist attack on the temple, 35 people including two National Security Guard (NSG) commandos were killed and 81 injured.
