Somnath leading Parliamentary delegation to China

New Delhi, July 1: A delegation of MPs from both Houses of Parliament, left for China yesterday on a six-day visit.

Led by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, the delegation, which will be in China from July 3 to 8, will have wide-ranging discussions with top leaders of the Chinese political hierarchy including the President Hu Jintao, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and Chairman of Standing Committee of National People's Congress.

Other members of the delegation include Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan, and MPs Ananth Kumar, K S Rao, Joachim Baxla, Mangani Lal Mandal and V Radhika Selvi . Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary, and LS Joint Secretary R C Ahuja are also members of the delegation.

Besides Beijing, the delegation will also visit the Zhengzhou and Shanghai.
