Sena MLA, activists arrested for raising slogans against UPA

Yavatmal, July 1 (UNI) A Shiv Sena MLA and 10 other party activists were today arrested when they staged a demonstration at the airport as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here to meet the farmers in Kalzari, on the concluding day of his two-day tour to Vidarbha.

A group of Shiv Sena activists led by MLA Sanjay Rathod assembled near the main gate of the airport and started shouting slogans against the UPA Government and its anti-farmer policies.

The demonstrators wanted to meet the Prime minister, but when they were prevented to enter the airport premises, they raised slogans.

Mr Rathod and 10 other activists were arrested, according to the police control room here.
