Rajasthan woos domestic tourists with 'monsoon' discounts
Jaipur, July 1 (UNI) With the onset of monsoon season, Rajasthan government is initiating steps to attract more domestic tourists to the desert state.
The target is domestic tourists, who may arrive here to savour their weekends in Rajasthan.
The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) hotels in Mount Abu, the state's only hill station, will start providing monsoon discounts from July, Rakesh Saini, managing director, RTDC told UNI.
''Here we are targeting Gujaratis, who are frequent travellers and may find the idea of spending their weekends in Mount Abu terrific, where the scenic monsoon adds a magic touch to the region,'' added Mr Saini.
The special monsoon packages will offer 'dirt cheap' rooms and is expected to attract newly-wed couples and even companies who can plan their conferences in this picturesque hill station.
A special monsoon festival is also being planned in July-end, which the RTDC will support with a cuisine festival, informed Mr Saini.
