PM promises all help to speed up Cargo hub project at Nagpur
Nagpur, July 1 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today promised that the Civil Aviation Ministry would extend all cooperation and support to Maharashtra government to start work for the development of Nagpur airport and Multi-Model Cargo Hub in the city.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Singh said the USA-based Boeing company would set up its maintainance and repair unit in Nagpur which is centrally located and has the potential to be a transport hub.
He also asked the state government to speed up the work on the projects including Indira Gandhi Sagar Dam and Goshi Khurd project.
''We will provide all necesssary assistance from the Centre for the completion of the project'', he said.
The city of Nagpur was part of the Jawaharlal Nahru Urban Renewal Mission and if developed rapidly, it would help improve the economy of Vidarbha as well as the state, he added.
