PM cancels Kolzari visit due to bad weather
Yavatmal (Maharashtra), July 1: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Kolzari in Yavatmal district was today cancelled due to heavy rains that have been lashing the district since yesterday.
Dr Singh arrived at Yavatmal airport this morning from Nagpur on the second day of his two-day visit to Vidarbha. He, however, could not reach Kolzari to meet the kins of DEBT-ridden farmers who had committed suicide.
However, the Prime Minister conveyed the message that he would announce a relief package in the larger interests of the farmers in Vidarbha.
The Prime Minister then returned to Nagpur where he held a series of meetings with district and state officials before declaring a relief package for the affected farmers.
