Petition seeks CBI probe against five senior state police officials
Shimla, Jul 1 (UNI) A petition has been filed in the Himachal Pradesh High Court against five senior police officials, including state DGP Ajit Narayan for alleged irregularities in the purchase of police uniforms from 1998 till 2004.
The petitioner, Om Parkash of Arki, also alleged that the ancient idols were also stolen from a temple in Kinnaur district in 1993 but these officials instead of probing the matter, tried to hush it up.
It has levelled the allegations against ADGP Armed Police Daljeet Singh Manhas, ADGP Vigilance Anirud Uppal, IG Sita Ram Mardi and Additional CBI Director Ashwani Kumar.
The petitioner has urged the court to direct the state government to get the matter investigated from CBI as all the officials were holding high positions in state police.
