Low pressure to grace AP with good rains
Hyderabad, July 1 (UNI) A well-marked low pressure over the north Bay of Bengal off north Orissa and West Bengal coast persisted with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto mid-tropospheric levels today.
Talking to UNI here, Hyderabad Meterological Centre Director Satya Kumar said ''the condition is likely to concentrate into a depression and rainfall is likely to increase over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, with heavy to very heavy showers at a few places during next two to three days.'' Mr Kumar said ''Isolated heavy rain is likely over Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 24 hours''.
As the condition is expected to move west-north-west direction subsequently, rain over Telangana is expected to increase.
Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers were likely over a few places over Telangana and Rayalaseema, he added.
While rain occurred at a few places over Telangana and Coastal Andhra, the weather was dry in Rayalseema.
