Lawyers boycott court proceedings

Gulbarga, July 1 (UNI) Lawyers in the city boycotted court proceedings today in protest against some revenue officials 'manhandling' a lawyer during the course of an altercation at Bhaikti in Bidar district of Karnataka.

Expressing solidarity with their colleagues in Bhaikti, about 300 lawyers took out a procession from the court complex here to the Deputy Commissioner's office and submitted a memorandum to DC Pankaj Kumar Pandey demanding action against the revenue officials concerned.

Gulbarga Bar Association President kalburgi expressd concern over the growing incidence of violence against lawyers and demanded stern action against the officials concerned.
