Langah warns of agitation against Mohali police
Chandigarh, Jul 1 (UNI) Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Succha Singh Langah today threatened to hold a massive agitation against the Mohali police to protest the arrest of his son Sukhwinder Singh and three others in an attempt to murder case.
The SAD would not tolerate the ''high handedness of police and making the wards of the Akali leaders as victims of political vendetta of the ruling Congress'', Mr Langah said at a press conference here, while reacting to the arrests.
''If the erring cops are not booked and punished, the Akali Dal will launch a massive agitation against the police,'' he said.
Mr Langah was reacting to the alleged police torture and inhuman treatment meted out to his son and his companions in Mohali following their arrests after a cop was allegedly beaten by the accused youngsters.
''We will soon apprise S.A.S. Nagar SSP of the true facts and ask him to punish the erring cops otherwise our party will launch stir,'' he added.
