Krushi Bank case: CM denies "witchhunting"

Hyderabad, Jul 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today denied any ''political witchhunting'' behind the arrest of Krushi Bank Chairman Kosaraju Venkateswara Rao and investigation into the Rs 32 crore cheating case.

Replying to questions from newsmen on Mr Rao, who was extradited from Thailand where he had fled two days before the collapse of Krushi Bank, to stand trial in the cheating case, the Chief Minister said police were probing the incident like any other case.

He parried a question about Director General of Police Swaranjit Sen's remarks on the probe linking the son of a former DGP in the case.

Denying the charge that the cases against those behind the collapse of the Charminar Bank and Prudential Bank were not being pursued with the same vigour, he said police were probing all cases impartially.
